What achievements have you made in helping others?
Volunteering with Age Concern - weekly visits to elderly housebound lady - got her care package revised when they tried to cut it through threatening media and MP involvement
7 years fundraising for cancer through running Relay for Life
Fostered and adopted countless rescue animals from budgies to horses
Deliver training to build capacity and empower people to do what they do better
Mentor young people and creative people
The work I do daily enables cultural organisations of all shapes and sizes to reach, engage and touch the lives of more people in the UK and beyond
What do you consider to be important traits in helping others?
passion, integrity, imagination
What do you consider to be today's greatest issue that is in need of attention?
I guess apathy is the biggest issue for social progession. Coming from Northern Ireland I find it sad and a bit weird that smiling at someone in a tube or god forbid, saying hello, marks you out as a little bit odd or eccentric. The sense of genuine, person to person community is eroding at an alarming rate. After all...

I am a part of all that I have met.
-Alfred Tennyson

One generation plants the trees; another gets the shade.
-Chinese proverb

Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
-Margaret Mead
Would you like to contribute a possible solution to this issue? If yes, please explain.
Smile more at strangers- live dangerously, start a conversation
Educate family, friends and colleagues that helping others does not require vast amounts of time and money
Don't walk past someone who obviously needs help
Get in touch with those people you've 'been meaning to'
Tell the people that you care about that you do - regularly
Spend less time on the internet
Get to know your neighbours

Personally - an animal loving committed culture vulture with a love of travel, good food and fine wine. Favourite evening would be dinner with friends enjoying one of my partners fabulous roasts. Favourite day pastime would be riding my horse down the beach in the sun.

Love meeting new people, new experiences, singing, reading and writing.
Favorite book, author, quote...
Your imagination is your preview of life's coming attractions.
-Einstein

Hi there lovely,

no mad plans - it's my partner's birthday so we've loads of lovely friends coming over to the local pup which is holding the annual village puppy of the year competition which should be fun! We're getting a great dane and bassett hound pup on the 15th August so very excited. Hope you've a lovely weekend planned. x
