joined LEAD International’s Training Team in June 2008 as Programme Assistant undertaking a variety of tasks in support of cohort training as well as other initiatives of LEAD International. In my current role, my main duties surround the planning and administrating of LEAD Europe's Fellows Training Programme.
A native New Yorker, I moved to the UK in September 2007 to undertake a Masters at the London School of Economics and Political Science for an MSc in Gender, Development, and Globalisation. Prior to my position at LEAD, I worked in a number of positions with various organizations including: the Young Survival Coalition, coordinating resources for young women suffering from breast cancer; the Eleanor Roosevelt Centre at Val-Kill, administrating their Young Girl’s Leadership Workshop; and UK Parliament, as Research Assistant to Labour MP Bill Olner. With a B.A. in Political Science from Marist College in New York, I also volunteered for a number of community development charities throughout university.
Besides sustainable development and human rights I have a passion for music, both singing and playing the harp since childhood. My sister and I are members of a group called “The Strings of Tara” which released their first album in 2007. I believe that my love of music and its transcending power was the foundation to shaping my passion for building a more sustainable and equal world!
