Do you want to be a leader in a sustainable world? - LEAD Europe 2009 Programme

Dear Colleagues,

Following a successful debut in Brussels, LEAD Europe is inviting applications for our ‘Leadership for Sustainable Development’ Programme 2009.

I have attached a flyer, a 2009 Application Pack, and some information below that I hope you find interesting and I encourage you to share among your own organisation and networks, particularly any contacts you have in Europe and its neighbouring countries. If it is possible, it would also be great if you could post a notice on your organisation’s website. If you do post a link to LEAD’s website, we are of course happy to return the favour!

Thank you all!

Kindest Regards,

Bridget

Applications open: Leadership for Sustainable Development – LEAD Europe Programme 2009

This dynamic programme strengthens individuals' understanding of key sustainable development challenges, and motivates participants to realise their potential as agents of change through challenging training with diverse international peers and inspiring interactions with experienced leaders.

In 2009, associates will go on a learning journey from London - China to view sustainability issues on national, regional, and international levels. We will focus on climate change, international collaboration, the role of developing countries (such as China), low carbon solutions in our current economic climate, and core leadership skills. Graduates from the programme join a unique network of 2000 cross-sector professionals in 90 countries, all dedicated to motivating change for a sustainable future.

The programme begins in March 2009 with the first of three residential events over nine months. All events incorporate online learning and personal action-oriented project work.

• London: Leadership and Climate Change (5 days, 23rd- 27th March 2009)
• Brussels: The EU and Leadership Towards a Sustainable Future (5 days, 29th June- 3rd July 2009)
• China: Low Carbon Economy (6 days, November 2009)

LEAD Europe "Leadership for Sustainable Development" Programme 2009

INVEST IN THE FUTURE
LEAD's "Leadership for Sustainable Development" Programme builds on 17 years of international training experience, furthering our mission to inspire leadership for a sustainable world. A core part of LEAD's mission involves building a network of international cross-sector professionals who can motivate action on sustainability.

To join the LEAD Fellows network, applicants must complete our acclaimed Fellows training programme in Leadership for Sustainable Development. Through the programme, participants gain first-hand experience of sustainability challenges and opportunities facing their own and other countries, and learn how to work effectively in teams to find and foster solutions. We equip these `rising stars' with the skills and knowledge to become increasingly cross-sectoral leaders in their own context and on the world stage. We also guide individuals to develop their personal vision and style of leadership, building on their strengths and learning from the experience of real-world leaders.

Course participants (known as LEAD Associates) remain in full employment during their training and graduate to become LEAD Fellows for life.

Thanks for this information. How does this compare to other certifications? My office has a sustainable development division and the entire office is in agreement that sustainable and green practices are essential.

I personally feel a new vision for better, more simple, and sustainable practices are needed for many a industry.....but being real estate focused ....I wanted to make a change.

I'll share this with my office. Also, check out the Rejuvestate.org group..... we might want to co-venture with you for an educational event at some point.
